There's nothing wrong with Moffat having a type - the problem is how that effects his writing. Similarly, there's nothing really wrong with shipping any of these things, or being into River.

I just find the shipping odd because they never met, and my version of shipping depends a lot on chemistry - but hey, whatever floats your boat. Stranger ships have sailed in fandom.

Yeah, this. It'd be nice if he was a little less obvious about it because I feel weird about watching a middle aged guy's sexual fantasies. It's not as bad as SMeyers visibly drooling over Edward in Twilight, but close.

River had a number of admirable and delightful qualities in addition to being luscious. Even if you think Moff is Misogyny Incarnate, I don't think it's impossible for good characters to come from problematic people.

They'd make for an interesting pair, definitely. Might be too much jealousy going on to keep it going for more than a few minutes without shots being fired, but I imagine that's a bit in the appeal.

Even those who spew about Moffat agree that River is attractive, even if only because Alex Kingston plays her. It's not like you can help what hits your buttons.
