Actually that particular show spends an awful lot of time disproving "orbs" so you probably should have chosen a better example. I can't think of one single orb instance where they didn't thoroughly debunk it with a better explanation. So I think you've watched far less than you claim.

Right? That show does a lot to disprove and dismiss a lot of stuff they "encounter". OP should have chosen Ghost Adventures or Ghost Asylum. Dudes on those shows think every bit of static or a bump in the distance is "contact".

Exactly. Ghost Hunters does a decent job of applying scientific method, even under reality show conditions. Mock it for all the dudes screaming every time someone sees a bug, but give them credit for the debunking. Not to mention the always interesting history lessons.

Agreed--Ghost Adventures should have been the choice here (the lead Zach is such a douchebag. I can't stand him). Even Ghost Asylum (they built a ghost trap? what? ok)!

But Ghost Hunters does actively try to disprove all of their findings. They hate orbs.

Indeed. At least in the earlier seasons, they would frequently say on Ghost Hunters is that they were out to debunk things rather than prove the existence of paranormal activity--find rational, mundane explanations for the things that were going on. And often they did, while they would also find things they simply couldn't explain. It just feels like more recently (especially after Grant left) that they come off as less about this and more focused on finding activity, or they don't show the cases where they don't find much of anything one way or another (because they're not "exciting" or something--thanks Syfy -_-). I miss those.
