Wouldn't that mean ...basically all shows are bad? I haven't yet seen a show that doesn't have at least a few episodes I'm not impressed with.

The majority of all the lengthy shows are "bad" in my books - the only ones I know that are an exception are Agatha Christie's Poirot, the Granada Sherlock Holmes, and Jeeves&Wooster.

I mean, it's not imperative that all episodes be superb for me to consider a show superb - I can overlook some eps that kind of bore me or don't impress me as much as the rest (e.g. the last season&COPP in Granada, 'The Blue Train' and 'The Big Four' in Poirot). But if there are bits of the show that are outright bad, nothing is going to remedy that.

On the other hand, the situation is much better when it comes to short TV series. I know a bunch where almost all the episodes are of the same quality.

(I do accept suggestions if people have any, by the way!)

For a short series I thought held up really well? Broadchurch.

Thank you :) I'll check it out! I never have enough of quality short stuff.
