New Russian Holmes. I'm no great fan of the show - and I hate hate both their portrayal of Irene and some of the nasty undertones they put into the Holmes-Watson relationship - but it was surprisingly high quality for a TV show made in the contemporary Russia and for these particular actors. The guy who played Lestrade was amazing at it! I never expected him to be anything more than a walking stereotype. And the plots were pretty brilliant o_o And the badass Watson initiating a duel!

To be honest, I always forget that Russia has media other than dash cams and shirtless pics of Putin.

Can't say I'm surprised. Russia has loads of super cool stuff*, but most of it isn't popular enough in the West for anyone to know it. And most of the modern Russian TV is the kind of crap that enables you to reach spiritual enlightenment because of how crap it is.

*literature, music, films - some from the 20th century, and a few from the 21st filmed by non-mainstream producers.

Still, dash cams are funny and Putin constantly gets photoshopped onto ridiculous memes, so I'm glad people know these things XD
