The point is that "spoilers may happen" and "please go put all the spoilers in your secrets" are not the same thing. That's how I always read it anyway: that there's no way case can actually control that. But some people lately seem to see it as an invitation, which was never the intention. There was a spoiler section of Fridays as long as I can remember.

No, the point is that it takes about three seconds and an almost immeasurably tiny amount of energy to put a spoiler warning on your post for something that's roughly a week old and it's considered a courtesy by many. It's an almost indescribably small amount of effort so it really is not that much to ask, rather than having everyone who is in any active fandom tread through F!S like walking on eggshells every single time. That's the point. It's basically the definition of "not difficult" but the results can be really upsetting.

I notice that you have nothing more to your argument than claiming it is a courtesy, which it plainly isn't. You are just trying to use social shaming to enforce your own personal opinion. Please stop that. Your entitlement to not seeing spoilers ends at your own eyelids.

My argument is that a) it's a courtesy and b) it's REALLY REALLY REALLY EASY and takes an extremely small amount of time.

You can say "entitlement" all you want but nowhere did I demand anything. If someone carelessly stepped on my toes and I said "excuse me, please don't do that", would you call that entitlement?

Also, how am I supposed to be going about trying to inflict "social shaming" on a bunch of anonymous people?

I completely agree with you. The selfishness of the "don't care if I spoil" people boggles my mind. It takes so little effort.
