Go to a tea shop and get individual cups. If you have particular flavors you like in general, you can narrow down what to start with using those. The tea will (generally) actually be decent tea, rather than the cheap stuff, but trying by the cup means you won't be shelling out for a quantity of something you end up not liking, and you'll be trying tea made by someone who knows the right temperature and steeping time.
