Re: People who drink tea!
(Anonymous) 2014-12-14 11:00 am (UTC)(link)Fruit teas are usually hibiscus based and quite often they're going to be sour because of it. Something to keep in mind. Some people like them anyway, Celestial Seasonings is a popular brand. You might want to look through their selection because they mostly do flavored teas, which appeal more to beginners.
Spiced teas are another possibility, if you like cinnamon, etc. Masala chai (usually just called "chai") is a blend from India with spices like cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, etc. It's meant to be taken with milk and sugar. You can also look if any stores carry Stash brand teas, which have flavors like vanilla nut, white chocolate mocha, pumpkin spice, peppermint, chocolate hazelnut, ginger, etc. etc. They STILL won't be as flavorful as pop, but if you add a bit of sweetener, you'll find it more flavorful than plain tea.
The problem with cheap tea is that yes, it will taste a lot like hot leaf water. If you have a place near you that allows you to buy a small amount of loose leaf tea to try, that might be an idea. Health stores or fancy grocery stores, maybe? Avoid places like Teavana, they're way overpriced. Stash is decent for the price and availability, and they're online as well.
