I remember being bored on the Internet and looking up paranormalist sites and one of them had a whole rant *against* these kinds of shows - as in, a guy who believed himself psychic and/or was a ghost chaser by hobby was cautioning people against getting into these shows if offered to them because of his own experience with them. I forget the guy's name, but it was Paranormal Witness or something. He said basically "These shows are bunk" - and run like any "reality" show does: scripted... produced by people who don't believe and don't respect the hobby and basically expect anyone they take on for a show to be a fraud producing miracles for them on a regular basis so they have material for their show. .... And that if anything weird actually does show up, it'll be ignored / feared / downplayed in favor of the stuff in the script.

So, you know, a guy who is into the paranormal hobby / psychic community / who is actually trying doing fringe science in investigating weird shit saying "these shows are bunk" kind of tells me something.

That said, sometimes it is fun to watch young men scream at air.
