It's all apparently linked to the fact that Ian McKellan might have made a slip of the tongue about there being a second gay dwarf in the filming of the Hobbit and everyone speculating it was true and that was Richard Armitage. As far as I know, that's the only piece of real "evidence"; everything else is just sheer gossip. Lee Pace is out but not officially out. Richard Armitage's sexuality is being speculated upon because they hang out together a great deal.

Disclaimer: I don't have a dog in the game either way; I never saw the Hobbit or anything either of these guys have been in. This just gets shoved in my face on tumblr. But I would say it would be amusing, regardless Armitage's sexuality, if they turned out to be just great friends. The best of friends. And people had wasted a whole lot of time invading their privacy over nothing.

and even if they're both gay, gay people can have gay friends they don't sleep with.

SA. Right, that's why I said regardless Armitage's sexuality.

Looking at people and speculating from afar = invading privacy now?

ok.

If re-posting pictures of private gatherings is "from afar" then yeah.

In addition to posting picks from private gatherings, I'd say hacking relatives' accounts in an effort to ascertain the private lives of people these trolls don't even know, yeppers.

I know all my set buddies would travel with me halfway across a continent to visit my family for a holiday that they don't even celebrate in their home countries.

DA

Well, that TOTALLY makes posting private pics and hacking relatives' accounts okay! Thanks for showing me the light, anon!

Disclaimer!Anon.

I know I'm relieved.

Right, because why would a person ever try anything new not found in their own countries? Doesn't even make sense.

And oy, the closest friends I've ever had in this life I have met AT WORK. Because that's where I spend most of my time. AT WORK. But what would those actors working for months on end in a remote location know about that, amirite?
