I don't think he even has a number in the comics, considering he's underage and more like camp mascot than a real soldier. But, there's like several canons there.

And yes, it's much more likely Marvel didn't do that research, because the poor boy has several different birth dates (two of which are at the Smithsonian).

Ahhh, I wasn't sure but that's a good point. Heh, for every marvel canon there's another five to contradict something from another.

Yes! It's two different dates on the same wall as well, which is freaking hilarious. How no one noticed that I'll never understand.(They play fast and loose with WWII history* as it is, so really, so I doubt it was some elaborate way to give Bucky more angst it was just them picking a random string of numbers).

(*I wrote WWII canon here to begin with, wtf brain, get off the internet).
