I agree that sexualized women doesn't necessarily mean the story is not good. Whether it's sexist or not, it's one of those things, I think - on an individual level, it might not be inherently sexist, but when most media sexualizes women and doesn't sexualize men, that's where you start seeing a problematic trend. Or if a series sexualizes all the female characters, but none of the male characters.

Yes, I'm sorry I used the word "problematic" but hey. if the shoe fits.

If a story actually does equally sexualize the men and women - and I'm not just talking about showing skin, I'm talking camera angles that "female gaze" as much as "male gaze" - then sure, we're good.

In Game of Thrones last season, there was a scene with Dany and...can't remember his name but the guy who's throwing himself at her. Hot guy--Daarius is his name, I think? Two actors have played him. Anyway there was a scene that was *distinctly* female gaze-y between the two of them and I LOVED IT. Finally! That show is horrible about the constant female nudity with no male nudity. I love the rest of it but for the love of God. More female gaze!
