I'm not sure what you're referring to, but it's people from places in the Americas (usually from South and Central America in my experience) who object to the idea of calling people from the United States "Americans". And it has caused several arguments on f!s. Or, nowadays, not even arguments, just a lot of people from the United States getting angry at the concept.

I miss lynx. I wonder what she's up to.

I actually saw more US-ians getting upset about it than Central/South Americans.

It's tough, because when you're debating who the name Americans should refer to, it does take on a certain lack of clarity
