I'm guessing Stucky must be painful for ou, because I've definitely sen more h/c fics that skew to Bucky's side...

nayrt

YES

This gets under my skin. I LOVE seeing Steve take care of Bucky, don't get me wrong, but it seems so completely one-sided. Granted, Bucky's a lot more messed up that Steve, but still. Fandom has a tendency to treat Steve as an unyielding pillar of strength that the woobie of choice (Tony or Bucky usually) can lean against. And while I understand that to a degree (I think Steve himself consciously chooses to portray himself as a pillar of strength since he doesn't want to bleed on anyone, as Chris Evans noted) it's very annoying when it seems like all the shit that Steve himself is dealing with gets completely unacknowledged.

I pretty much got the vibe the second I read it. I must plead guilty in actually enjoying that sort of fic - but yeah, realistically Steve ALSO went through a lot, and it's sort of shitt when people don't acknowledge that.

Honestly, I stopped reading Stucky fics after CA:TWS came out. I shipped them before, I do still ship them in a pre-movies way, but I personally can't see them in any sort of healthy ship post CA:TWS, and while I know people like unhealthy ships, I'm not a super fan myself.

I can see what mean.

Personally, I'm really only into Stucky in LOOOONG fics that spend a hell of a long time dealing with Bucky's issues first.

Just throwing him and Steve together post-TWS rarely works for me.

I do like those, but I hardly ever see them. I do like it, though, when there's some mediating force with them, like Sam, or Natasha (not Tony). That I can see working out, as the two try and get back on their feet post-TWS.

If it helps, Buck does actually ends up being a surprisingl well-balanced person in the comics, all shit considering.I can see how immediate-post-WS would be unhealthy, but I don't think it's unhealthy by default.

I know he does.

When I say "unhealthy", I don't mean just on Bucky's side of things, I should have clarified: I don't think that Steve is in a place where it would be healthy either.

True - hey, not ever ship is for everyone. I only mentioned because you said you shipped them before.

Oooh, got it. Yeah, I did, and I still like pre-CA:TWS Stucky fics, but after seeing how fucked up Steve was in that movie... It's just not for me, like you said. :)
