They are very well-written. Witty dialogue, fast moving plots, entertaining characters, the whole shebang. I'm not much of a romance fan, but these books deliver.

'A Week To Be Wicked' is my favorite. Minerva thinks the local rake is about to ruin her sister's reputation. She convinces him to run away with her for a week to attend a geology conference to present her findings (she's a geologist and her work has been accepted for publication, although the Geological Society doesn't know she's a woman). Doing so would ruin her rep, but save her sister's. He agrees, and they set off on an adventure. He turns out to be a decent human being, if a bit rakeish, and she turns out to be more adventurous than she realized. They fall in love.

And bought.

Are there any of her historical romances that you would recommend?

I have a friend who sometimes exchanges romance novels with me, but so far the ones she's passed on are drivel. I really want to have one we both can squee over.

Her Spindle Cove series is historical romance. A Week To Be Wicked is #2 in the series, but honestly you can read them in any order. I also like Say Yes To The Marquess.

They're not romance novels, but Stephanie Thornton writes novels about historical women. She's covered the Empress Theodosia, Hapshepsut, and her latest is about four women attached to Ghengis Khan. She's really good and her books feature lots of women supporting and respecting each other.

Great, thanks. With the geology theme I thought it was a modern romance. Regency? Even better. Looking forward to it, and I'll try the Marquess ones if I like it.

Thanks for the Thornton rec. I'm particularly interested in the Genghis Khan one. I know nearly nothing about women from that period. Unfortunately, her books are harder to get hold of in my country than Tessa Dare's.
