Total TMI, consider yourself warned

I agree with a caveat. What a person wants in porn reflects a lot about them. What a person reads in porn may just be the closest thing I can find.

I'm going to speak personally. I'm starting to realize that my issues with body image are a lot more massive than I thought. That's definitely related to why I kept seeking out stuff about transformations--werewolves, genderbend, anything and everything that involved someone changing and being happier for it. Problem is, most transformation porn is really, really rapey, so I kept reading stuff that sickened me because it was the closest thing I could find to stuff I actually wanted.

Actually, I may as well drop another caveat: what a person wants in porn seems to reflect their earliest experiences, not necessarily the person they've become. I saw one writer talk about submitting in BDSM as something she's into because she had it drilled into her in at a young age that she wasn't supposed to like or enjoy sex. This specific individual* roleplays being forced, because it gets uncomfortable if she shows active consent during the act itself. The person she is now is definitely not a misogynist or a slut-shamer--she's just carrying baggage from earlier days, and that's okay.

* I want to be clear that I'm only talking about her here, based on the things she's said. I'm not discussing BDSM in general.

Insightful comment. I can definitely relate to never quite finding the porn I want to be reading. Instead I read the closest thing possible.

I'm not sure it' all that deep with me, but I have kinks that started when I was 9, and some of the fics I read are basically still way of working through some issues I had age 13-19, which is really weird, because in most daily situations I wouldn't even be thinking of that.
