The best thing the US can do for itself would be to disband the CIA, NSA, and Secret Service; and throw at least half the NSA, TSA, and Homeland Security Dept. in prison for widespread privacy and civil rights violations (and sexual assault, in the case of the TSA). While we're at it, get the guns out of the hands of "law enforcement" before they kill any more Black people.

Honestly, every country is hypocritical. You think the rest of the world doesn't pull this shit? If you do, you're quite naive. The US is just the biggest/most powerful because they're the most powerful nation at the moment.

Welp. You can't go around claiming you're the number one economy and then cry 'it's more complicated than that' when someone points out that no, actually, you aren't anymore.

Besides, if you look at what China's got going for it, there's no way the US of the next forty to fifty years can compete.

They're the number one economy in the world, yeah, but if you're talking great powers on the world stage, it's less likely that China is going to be the big dog, and more that we're returning to a world with a bunch of competing great powers dominating their respective regions

I don't know. They've made some interesting investments in the last few decades that I think are going to give them the edge in the upcoming future. Primarily their investment in the Arctic region and involvement in the Arctic council. As soon as the en masse exploitation of mineral resources start, China's going to be right there on the front line.

You want the facts of life, petal? Those things contribute towards a booming economy. Not to mention their copious resources and brutal business ethics.

No, it's not right. Will that change anything? No.

Oh and if you think Western countries are free of slave labor then you are seriously deluded. They're just not as forward about it. Prisoners in the US are used as slaves. International clothing companies use sweatshop labor. The West is not as guilt-free as you seem to think.

But...that anon didn't say the US is the number one economy. They said it's the most powerful country in the world, which is determined by more than just the size of a country's economy.
