Gotham and The Flash are such fun.

I've only seen about three of Flash actually, but it wasn't hard to be pulled into the show at all since it just seems so unrepentantly happy about what it is (a cape show about THE FASTEST MAN ALIVE). Sure there is romance drama I don't care for, but I don't find myself hating the cast like I did with Arrow for being so loaded with melodrama.

Also Gotham is a campy dumb show, little Bruce's scenes are hilarious (unintentionally or otherwise), the endless "GET IT? IT'S THAT GUY. WE ARE REFERRING TO HIM/HER BECAUSE THEY BECOME THAT GUY. GET IT?" is one of the best things ever, Fish Mooney is too attractive and her actress is totally chomping the entire set, and Harvey Bullock is a shouty cutie pie.

I am eternally entertained by Harvey, especially now that's he's shown he does have a nicer side (buried as deep as he can get). I adore Alfred and Bruce's relationship (really, all things related to Alfred). It's hard with child-actors but I think they've got some good ones. I like the Selina/Bruce interactions, and I'm not usually a fan of them.

I have a soft spot for Nygma and I kind of hope he doesn't end up as a bad guy (or they go the comic route where he sort-of became evil because of brain-damage or became un-evil because of brain-damage -- basically I like him as a screwball CSI). I adore his interactions with Gordon and Harvey.

I am with you on The Flash being fun. I just need an upbeat show and it's really delivering. But I am so fascinated with Harrison Wells. I really hope he's more of an anti-hero than a villain. I also really adore the Joe/Barry father/son stuff. And I love that Barry has a group of people right from the first episode who know who he is and are helping out. He actually tells quite a few people. I'm with you in being disinterested in the romance so far. I can't wait for Iris to know though so she can be better utilized.

I feel like The Flash is doing so many things right. I can't wait for them to return!

Yeah, I think I just about clutched at my chest when Harvey told the rest of the police force that they ought to stand up for Gordon while also insulting him at the same time. And covering his old partners long term care too. He plays off everyone so well imo.

You know what Nygma reminds me of? Procedural characters that are favourites for being coy know-it-alls, except that nobody, especially Gordon and Harvey, wants to play along ever. Him trying to do other folks' job better than them will never get old to me. While I don't think I can see this version as Riddler yet, I like that he has a background that could fit his stint into private detective business.

Tbf, I'm not actually familiar with general Batman and Flash canons. Most of what I know is standard mythos, and what I've read and seen of either in team-based settings and cameos in other related stories (GL/corp, Sirens, Batwoman, Teen Titans, etc.). Batman has always been easy to watch as a movie or show, but basically going in blind for The Flash and having it be charming enough that I want to know more is great plus.

Also it looks like TF is hiring the entire cast of Prison Break for its rogues, and that has me stupid giddy about it.

I agree about Nygma; I can't see him as the Riddler yet either (even with all the riddling they keep pushing).

I'm also not very in-tune with Batman or Flash (especially Flash). I actually think that's a bit of an advantage. I know some from here and there but if I knew more, I might by miffed that they're changing stuff. As is, I really enjoy what both shows are doing.
