...Well, the Templar storyline is something to look forward to then, but the party banter bug is worrying the hell out of me. There's no way I believe the game is actually supposed to work exactly the way it does, and I thought they were going to up the chances of banter occurring. Two banters (at most) in 40 hours isn't normal. If that's how the game is supposed to be then BioWare fucked up.

With all you hear about the Venatori over the course of the game, it IS extremely odd that they didn't get a bigger mission or have a more important role in the game. (I want to go to Tevinter, too!)

Yeaaaaaaaa, if BioWare want to say some of these issues aren't "bugs" that's fine, but I'm having trouble believing that. I mean, I bought the game, I liked it, I'm not asking for a refund or anything...but just work on a patch, Jesus Christ.

I adore Solas but I can see why he might not be for everyone, and as much as I enjoy all the VA's, it is kind of weird to replay the game using the same VA for a different character. I felt that way with Hawke sometimes, even though I found male Hawke's VA to be great. (At least we have more than one option this time!)

I don't want to oversell the added content on the templar line. It's still pretty lackluster. But it is SOMETHING more than the mage line got. (Champions isn't as wtf awesome as Whispers, but imo it's more fun in some ways? The stakes are a little lower and there's a really nice Fade section, and Dorian's introduction feels a little less out-of-the-blue than Cole's, even though they're nearly identical.)

The party banter thing is horrible. I can't find the post where they explained it, but basically banter is supposed to fire every fifteen minutes (a long-ass time to begin with), but only if you

-aren't near hostile mobs (if there's red on your map you're too close)
-aren't in Val Royeaux, Redcliffe?, Keeps?, some other locations
-???? (there were quite a few other blocks that you could trigger but I don't recall what they were)

Which means you could conceivably play for hours without ever hearing anything just because you're fighting too much or are playing in zones where it doesn't trigger, or are going back to camp/skyhold too much or whatever.

It's a drastically different system from DA2 and DAO. In DAO it triggered every time you hit a 'banter' zone (you could keep walking over the same spot again and again if you wanted to grind out dialogue). In DA2 I think it was similar. Bioware wanted to move away from that and make it more 'organic' but instead it's a broken mess. :( Same with a lot of the other problems people are having. I lucked out and I haven't run into any of them so far, but I haven't tried to trigger Dorian's quest on my templar run yet and I'm not sure how that'll work without having ever met Alexius.

I luckily didn't download the PC patch that came out a few days back. Apparently it broke the graphics and fucked up even more things? Bioware needs to fix a lot of problems ASAP. A lot of people are going to be getting the game for Xmas and right now it's really buggy for a AAA title.

Will Dorian hate me forever if I ally with the Templars? I'm afraid to do that... I think I'll side with the mages again on my Dorian playthrough and go with Templars on a different one. The Cole in the fade stuff sounds good, though! I want to try it; I've been avoiding spoilers for that quest.

I actually did see that post, but I'm still hoping they'll change it up a bit in a future patch. Maybe I'm being overtly optimistic, but people hate the banter issues so much in this game that I hope BioWare listens to their audience. I miss Origins banter. The banter in Inquisition is just as good, but not being able to actually listen to any of it is a big problem... I wish there was a trigger as easy as running in front of Orzammar... Can't tell you how many times I exploited the convo triggers in the other games, but it was nice having certainty it would work.

They already have a hot fix for the graphical issues caused by the last patch! It made hair shiny as all get out; it was terrible. I'm not sure what else the patch did, though. I know I had more party banter before the patch, but I'm not sure if the patch had anything to do with it or if it's just the game hating me. I understand games are going to have bugs, but... I can't remember having played a game with this many issues. Not for quite some time, anyway. I hope it doesn't take another month, but at this point I'm not holding my breath.
