Just because a story is published or out there online, has fans or haters, or has likes and reviews does not mean it's good or even passable. Not everyone is intended to write, even on a basic level. Does it happen? Sure. Should it not? Who knows.

My deal is more with people saying that the write write write is this sure fire plausible way to get better. Not everyone is intended to write, or can get better no matter how much practice they do. You have to have a limited amount of talent or an excellent idea. JK had a good idea, Meyers fanfic'ed off JK, James fanfic'ed off Meyers, and god knows why Brown is popular. But not everyone have these same results. If they did we'd all be well known multi-millionaire authors, or doing whatever we dreamed of.

OP wants to write. People are trying to help them make their dream come true, despite also telling OP that they may not end up being an excellent writer that sells millions of copies. But you can become okay at everything. Not great, but no one's talking about great here -- except you. No one's saying everyone can become a star author. We're saying that it's possible to learn to write well enough to tell your story. That's the equivalent to saying that you can learn to sing well (if you put effort into it and don't have physical limitations) so that people will stay put and listen without cringing. Will you be the next Musical star? Nah, if you start out bad or awful, that's highly unlikely and no one should make it sound like it's feasible. But for some people, hell even for a lot, that's all they want. And why the fuck you think it's helping anyone to tell them "you're not intended to do thing X" ... that I really don't know.
