I've had three of my IRL trans friends say exactly that - that trans headcanons are fetishizing and make them uncomfortable.

Transperson here. My response to some 90% of trans headcanons I've seen is "they're creepy they're creepy they're creepy there creepy they're creeeeeeeepy."

I come out of most of those fics feeling mildly dirty, tbh.

Other people may like them, but they creep me out. I've never had this reaction to slashfic, despite being queer, though I know a lot of other queer people do, so...

Like I don't get people like you. Not all representation is good. Some of it's pretty bad.
