Yes, actually. No price is set in stone. There are honestly so many ways to get items at a discount.
The OP is absolutely correct. I know hearing people complain about fanart prices can get annoying but they aren't wrong to do it. Nor are they wrong to contact the artist and try and work out a lower prices. (This does not mean condoning any rude, threatening, or malicious behavior by a wanna-be-buyer)

and haggling is what the stock and commodity exchanges are all about, you put out a buy or sell offer, name the price, someone matches it - great - if not you raise or lower until you get a match.

Kind of ironic that an economic casino acts more like a free market than the real economy does.
