95% of the things people make secrets about here don't need to be secret.

Well, it's not something that's generally said out loud, that you want all your friends or favourite authors to abandon fandom, if it means they're happier that way.

There are many good reasons for leaving this suspicion unspoken.

- Why would you encourage good writers to leave your fandom?
- That whole wank when some fans declare they've "grown out of" fandom and have become more magically fulfilled by going back to real life, which is just tiresome
- The assumption that people are always happier when they leave fandom (which is by no means always the case)

It's just a whole bag of upset and complication, and most people are in fandom for uncomplicated fun.

So yes, I think it is a valid secret.
