all businesses are not the same. a retailer is not the same as a service industry, and a manufacturer who is also a retailer of their own goods has a unique set of hurdles that other businesses don't face. a sole proprietor, such as an artist working for themselves, is nothing at all like a big-box store, a dry cleaner, a mechanic, etc. each of these businesses, whether they employ one person or 500, runs in a completely different fashion and what flies at one will get you thrown out of the other.
