It really tells you how little you value the art business when it's considered okay to haggle it down t laughable prices, but no one even thinks about haggling with items like TVs or computers or even fast food.

Art and creative services are valued even less than a waiter's salary.

I'm not saying whether or not I would haggle everything, but I totally negotiated the price of three of the last four of my computers. So your comparison is not entirely valid there.

And you probably fucked over an employee in doing so. Congratulations, I hope they served you well and I hope you're proud.

Most retailers do not allow haggling. If you got a discount and live in America, either there were coupons involved, they matched a competitor because you brought in an ad that was a week or less old (you need the actual ad) or there was a sale going on you didn't know about. Otherwise? Congrats, you probably pestered them enough to lower the price to shut you up and they likely lost their job.

I really doubt it. Sometimes you can get the display model or a discount based on waving an installation fee or something.

No one has said they're bullying people into accepting discounting prices except people convinced hagglers are screechy malcontents.
