"We thought you were dead!" fic. Not if the character faked their own death, though. I'm picky with my tropes, lol.

Also, secret identities, self-sacrificing "take a bullet for you" type stuff, and bad-ass normals being bad-ass.

Oh, and Sentinel AUs when they're not thinly disguised D/s-verse fics, and Potterverse AUs when it's used as a universe setting and not a "let's cram everyone into Hogwarts and have them play Quidditch with Harry Potter for some reason" setting. Like I said, I like me some tropes but I'm particular. :)
