(But I agree 100 percent on Angel/Angelus being less annoying than Willow. Willow is to me what Wesley Crusher is to the vast majority of TNG fandom. Shut up, Willow! Xander, I go back and forth on.)

(Anonymous) 2014-12-23 03:05 am (UTC)(link)Yeah, this is me mostly. I'm a big believer in the worst thing that happened to Buffy was her mother dying, not having had to kill Angel. I still believe that. And I really think she loved Spike and Riley and she got over Angel and his breaking up with her. But I don't think she ever got over Angel losing his soul and terrorizing her and then getting cursed again right before she had to send him to hell. I think that permanently fucked her up. Buffy deals with her trauma by not dealing with it. I don't think she ever dealt with the majority of s2 and even the beginning of s3 when he came back from hell. She just kind of went from there. And I'm not counting her admission to Giles about having had to kill him with his soul intact. That's not dealing, that's getting Giles off her back.
We agree muchly on "shut up Willow". There should be a t-shirt, actually. Was there a "shut up Wesley" t-shirt?
