Honestly there are entire fandom not on AO3, let alone a ship in those fandoms.

I agree. I'm writing for some of these small fandoms myself right now. The lack of even a tag for them makes me in no hurry to post.

One is for a non-English language fandom (Swedish/Danish TV series) and I'm not sure what to even tag it with - the English translated title? There are already a few unrelated fandoms with the same name so probably not. The Swedish/Danish name? Or all three?

For two other fanfics I'm writing, there are about 20 fanfics for both those fandoms on AO3, but none with those particular pairings.

Oh actually, I have another fanfic on the go as well for which my fic is still the only one in the fandom. There are other fics, but they're all RPF, so I don't really count them as I see RPF as a separate fandom in itself.

I do also write in fandoms which have fics in the tens of thousands. There's a lot more impetus to finish those fics. It's not a deliberate decision, I just naturally post more often when I know people are going to appreciate it.

It still doesn't stop me writing those rare fandoms though.
