Well, not really. There are certainly cultures that abstain from or do not have access to alcohol.

Nah jk. I was thinking more that it's something that transcends class lines, transcends cultural and geographic lines, even transcends time - a hangover was more or less the same a century ago as it is now. I agree that it's definitely not universal strictly speaking.

Um, I've never had a hangover. Not been drunk a lot, tbh, but still, no hangovers, which is lovely. Though I've pretty much stopped drinking since I don't like the taste.
