Not in the movieverse though. Michael Bay would ruin it, the way he ruins everything.

Okay, this is going to sound really stupid, but I would love it if Grimlock secretly had a massive crush on OP (because OP is a badass, and I think Grimlock respects that, even if he won't admit it). It wouldn't need to be reciprocated, I'd be totally content with it just being a one-sided thing... actually I think that would be the most in-character way to approach it, considering OP's canonical attitude toward the Dinobots (in G1, at least, but G1 and Bayformers are the only continuities I have any familiarity with).

I've only watched up to early season 2 of the cartoon, so what I've gathered so far is that OP, and Wheeljack ofc, treats the Dinobots as some kind of difficult children that just need guidance. On time paradox islands but ANYWAYS—

But I'm also going through the old Marvel comics of that time, and Grimlock totally has that grudgy and "me will never admit how together put Optimus Prime is!" thing. I could totally see this.
