What happened to nerd culture that made us think it's utterly brilliant for someone in charge of a franchise to write a million episodes about how stupid the franchise is and how the audience are all idiots for liking it and for expecting the hackneyed clichés that he keeps serving up so that he can subvert them

like, say what you will about Alan Moore but at least the man eventually stopped writing for Big Two superhero comics. This is like if Alan Moore kept hating the Big Two just as much but never stopped writing for them.

Actually no that's exactly what it's like. It's like if Alan Moore just kept writing incredibly byzantine versions of Watchmen over and over and over again. With the same messages about the excesses of superhero comics and comic book storytelling, and the same twists and surprises, and the same tone. Over and over.

You can't expect to start a discussion unless you actually mention what the hell you're talking about, anon.
