do you feel similar about bookworm or foodie?

i mean, it's hella annoying if people proclaim it everywhere, but i don't think a label for a hobby is bad in of itself

Kinda. I see it as a form of othering, because these terms get used a lot to poke fun at the subject. "Look at that bookworm with all her fucking books, ahahahaha what a nerd!" or "Fucking foodies, who cares that much about food?"

True. It just bothers me, though, especially since I've grown to hate the terms "nerd" and "geek."
