Funny you mention that, I was just thinking about that book series too! I had no idea there was a movie and will have to add it to my list.

The only reason I even thought to look up Babysitters Club was because of yuletide and then went to wikipedia to see when the book series ended and it said the TV show was on Netflix.

Yeah, just one (as far as I saw on netflix) based on the first book, but there is one! The animation style is interesting, IMO, not sure if I like it or not, you know? But as far as I can remember, it followed the book to a T which was interesting, and a bit surprising.

Huh, I didn't know there was a TV show. I might have to look into that.

Oooo it's animated? That's interesting.

Yeah the Babysitters Club was a 90s show for 13 episodes. I watched it on the Disney Channel when I was younger and loved it but apparently it aired originally on HBO. It's very 90s. I can't remember if it follows any books closely enough but it keeps their personalities fairly accurate.

Yeah, here are some stills: (1), (2)

Like, it kind of reminds me of the Legend of Zelda games, "The Phantom Hourglass" and "Spirit Tracks", though only just, you know?

That would be why: I'm not a nineties kid. |D I might watch it, though it might not be as good if I don't have the nostalgia goggles, so maybe not. |D

Yeah, I get what you're saying about the Boxcar Children, but I will definitely check it out. It was one of my favorite book series as a kid.

The show was filmed in 1990 and aired on Disney Channel from 1994-1995 as reruns. Definitely I have nostalgia glasses on, so I'm not sure how someone else might feel. Granted, I fully have nostalgia glasses on while watching the Babysitters Club movie.

FWIW, I do think the animation looks better in motion than in stills, and I did genuinely enjoy it. :)

A friend and I ended up watching this movie and really enjoying it. I wish they had gone on to do 30 minute TV episodes of each of the mystery books because the mysteries were my favorite part of the book series.
