Along the lines of video games: YouTubers who play videogames. I don't get how watching a bunch of dudes playing video games and fangirling over them is appealing. They're just... dudes.

let's play fandoms are so baffling to me

like i get the need to see gameplay before buying a game, but why you'd want to see that gameplay over tryhard commentary is beyond me

don't tell me it's for the plot either b/c video game plots suck hard

go watch a movie or tv series if you're that desperate

I get watching LPs. The fandoms I don't.

I don't get LPs and I especially don't get the fandoms around them. Like okay it feels a gaming niche but I don't understand getting excited over the player?

I understand watching lets plays, but I don't get the fandoms around them. Hell I didn't even know lets play fandoms existed until I saw some AH and Roosterteeth stuff on tumblr.

Normally I prefer to play things myself, but I often watch LPs of horror games because I'm too much of a scaredy cat to play them myself. The commentary makes it less scary.

I don't get the fandoms, though.
