If one or more of the girls is bisexual, it's a bisexual relationship.

Also, I'm not sure you're one to be talking about taking things personally.

I have no horse in this race, but bisexual doesn't actually describe the relationship in any meaningful way even though it's a relationship between bisexuals. If you said "Korrasami is a bisexual couple" to people who had no idea what you were talking about, they wouldn't know if you were talking about two women, two men, or one woman and one man. Saying a lesbian couple means there are absolutely two women involved, and it's better as a description. If you want it both ways, you can say "a bisexual relationship between these women," but lesbian is definitely easier to use.

But "lesbian" doesn't actually work, any more than "heterosexual" works if it's a male/female pairing.

Although, thinking about this makes me realize that "bisexual" doesn't work in this instance either, so there's that. Lesbian/bisexual/heterosexual/gay all describe orientation, not relationship status. I don't think it's right to say someone's in a lesbian relationship if they're not lesbian, or gay relationship if they're not gay, or het relationship if they're not het. I think probably the better thing to say is "it's a relationship between two women" or "it's a relationship between two men" or "it's a relationship between a man and a woman."

How? There's either two people of the same sex or the opposite, unless it's polyamorous. People can be bisexual, but I'm not seeing it for the relationships of less than three people.

Lesbian/gay/heterosexual/bisexual refers to orientation. I don't think it's right to say two people are in a lesbian relationship if they're not lesbians, even if it's a two person relationship.

Well, that's the thing that's grating on people, you know, that you're seeming to take it so personally.
