(Anonymous) 2014-12-27 09:52 am (UTC)(link)Also chiming in that the OP seems a little... under-informed? Not sure exactly how to call it without actually being rude.
I don't have a bone to pick either way, except that I find ffnet a horrible place to read fanfiction on, from a purely technical point of view.
The site invariably tries to install all kinds of scripts on my laptop that I don't want. I get insistent warnings from my virus scan provider if I actually try to log in. I just no longer go there at all. If a fic is only on ffnet, I just don't read it. Not worth the risk, in my opinion.

And thanks for the thanks. I had a good run with some awesome peeps.

(Anonymous) 2014-12-27 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)There was an issue with a specific flash ad some years ago, but that's it.
It always better to use adblock + disable plug-ins in case of a new malicious ad, but really, the virus scare isn't necessary (I'm saying this as someone who uses FFN daily since AO3 is not really good for fandoms in any language that isn't English)
