Oh who gives a good goddamn? Play how you want to play. I used to godmode my way through Duke Nukem 3D and Quake 'cuz I sucked so bad at them. On the easiest skill levels, even. And you won't catch me playing Halo on Legendary, if I'm gonna do chores I'll clean the house. I've been playing games since I was 6 and I rarely put on the hard mode unless it's certain FPS games I've played for years and am very familiar with, like Doom, and even then I avoid Nightmare mode and other games' equivalents.

tl;dr you're not betraying anything that matters. Some neckbeard's idea of how a game should be played isn't on that list.
