Oh, I hated that because he was a pain in the ass but I kind of like that about him. Consequently, I thought it was annoying that she was lecturing him on changing. I was like, no Gwen - he's fine. Leave it.

Right? And besides, everything she lectured him about was stuff Merlin already said. But she has (suddenly overemphasized) breasts so of course he listens to her! It was so frustrating.

I can't say that I entirely minded the emphasized breasts because they were really lovely that season but it was suck that her costume changed entirely just because she was transitioning into love interestdom.

I definitely don't mind revealing clothing. But the switch in her wardrobe was SO ridiculous when she entered 'love interest mode.' There was a breast joke in the first episode of the season! Ugh.

It was weird.

"I can't say that I entirely minded the emphasized breasts"

+amen to that

SO IT WASN'T MY EYES DECEIVING ME!

I could have sworn they stuck her in the only push bras and kudos to the costume designer, because damn, her chest was not that exposed initially.

But it wasn't fine. He was the prince, the future king and he was self-absorbed and could bully people. Just what kind of good king wouldn't stop to think about his people, especially when staying in their homes? I mean, he's a *guest* and yes, many cultures have this idea that hosts are to tend to their guests every whim and it's a super important role - but when he's the crown prince and she's a peasant who supports herself by being a mad and her dad died and she's all alone, he ought to stop to consider that 1) she doesn't have everything he's used to, 2) she certainly doesn't have a lot of what she does have, and 3) he treated pretty much everyone like that.

He still retained some of his pain in the ass traits (I have a long list of reasons why I'd like to punch Arthur in the face for the way he treats Merlin) but her lecture was a good part of his character development.

His obnoxiousness was a gag. Arthur was way over the top about it but we were supposed to like Arthur at that point. It's stupid when shows portray characters as flawed but likable and then introduce a live interest to tame said character and change their flaws.
