In my experience it's not as rare as one would expect. Especially when you consider the way homophobia affects subgroups differently and how those groups end up fighting each other a lot.

Granted, that does happen, and I really have no way of knowing demographics of any particular website. On the other hand, a lot of the hatred seemed to be to the tune of "it can't happen because they can't be lesbians because [insert untrue lesbian stereotype here]".

To me that usually denotes an outsider, but who really knows, right. I could be dead wrong and just making my own assumptions because of general population statistics.
