Re: so I got a job

Ooh. Yeah, that sounds really frustrating.

Is there anyone who could help you move to a place that's closer to public transportation?

Alternatively, is there anyone who could give you rides to a driving course, or simply who could teach you to drive? (I like driving and I will totally teach you to drive if you live anywhere around me)

Sorry if you've heard all of this before. It does sound very frustrating and it's hard to just get started on getting out of a mess like that. I know you can, though!

And no worries! I'm not trying to direct the thread or anything, just wanted to post about this (and let people know about the book club thing)

I'd love to move somewhere closer to public transportation but I have no money, so I'd still be depending on other people to do that. I know I could always pay my parents back if they put up some money to get me a place where I could actually find a job, but that initial cost is too daunting for me to be comfortable suggesting it. And I don't know anyone with the desire or time to teach me to drive.

I've been trying to look into selling my writing since I can do that from home but I need to get comfortable showing other people my work and I have zero confidence.

I'm really surprised to hear you have no confidence, since from your comments you always seem really knowledgeable and well-spoken.

Do you live in the US? Which area, if so?

That's nice to hear. It's not so much the technical aspects of writing that I worry about though since I write fiction. It's getting people to care. Something can be well-written but just not connect with people. The idea of that happening is actually not terrible to me, but the uncertainty gets to me and I freeze up.

I'm in upstate New York.

:|a I wish I could do something else to help. It sounds like a nasty pickle, since you probably need mental health support if you have anxiety like that, but you can't really go out and get it? and you can't really get a job or learn to drive or anything...not without someone who can give you rides on a regular basis, at first.

I hope you do find something like that.

You're not close to me at all, darn. On the (very small) off-chance that you lived near my city I was totally going to teach you how to drive. XD

You sound worthless. Do your parents a favor and kill yourself.
