Honestly, as someone who works on game scripts (I work as a translator for a gaming company) I'm just overjoyed when I see people getting to enjoy what I've done. It actually really bothers me sometimes that I know I'm putting a lot of work into things a lot of people will never see because the games I do are predicated on limited-time events and are only actually available for the people willing to grind a bit (or throw us some cash, thank you for my paycheck as well!).
I think I am very good at my job, but it really makes my day when I see people enjoying what I do...and if playing on easy mode gets you there? It means that whoever did that story you love, whoever developed that, the hours or months or years they put into it actually meant something.

So, you know, you are supporting gaming, just in a way that the people so obsessed with being the FIRST or the BEST (on a scale that really means nothing if you never wanted to be on it in the first place) just don't think about.
