Dunno if it's a meme, exactly, but I got tired of all the nostalgia. Remember the 80s? Remember the 90s? Remember the teens? Remember this thing that happened last week? Ugh. I'm sick of reminiscing about old shit that wasn't that great to begin with.

I could definitely stand to not be reminded that I'm a 90s kid so often. I really don't care. And no, I don't think all cartoons are terrible these days and that they reached their peak when I was in the target demographic.

Last I played was diamond, and it was the only ds one I bothered with. But I suspect I'm going to be into it now that I got a copy of X today (I've been eyeing it warily).

The nineties weren't that great. Lotta eye-bleeding Lisa Frank crap, and crude Nicktoons. And the posts I see aren't even talking about it. It's just: "Remember this thing? If you do then your childhood was awesome!"

I actually loved a lot of that 90s stuff and sometimes I even like being reminded of things I forgot about--though Buzzfeed can slow way down and maybe even actually start saying something about those things instead of just making me go "yep, that sure was a thing that existed when I was a kid"--but I don't get the need to act like it was the best decade ever.

It's been a trend for a while. I think VH1 started it by having second rate comedians discuss stuff that was a thing during the seventies, and I remember a lot of 80s junk being revisited.

This is almost certainly a marker of where I spend my time on the Internet rather than anything else, but I've honest to god seen more parodies of the 90s kid stuff than I have actual examples of it (without seeking out or specifically avoiding either side)
