ive done this before. i changed social circles online a couple of times. each time i've simply told people hey, i need to move on. i'm sorry and i'll miss you but it's something i have to do. and then i log off.

you might want to bring a couple close friends with you. i did that once and it worked fine. but unfortunately it could be that your friends are somehow involved in this harassment youre getting, so keeping them might mean the harassment could follow you still. you know better than any of us whether or not you can trust your friends, but it's something to consider. good luck
