I really think much of the problem is that there is a "Palestinian" faction which is awful, racist, and wrongheaded; and a "Jewish" faction which is awful, racist, and wrongheaded; and they each want to denounce the other as terrible while pretending that they represent their ethnic or political group entirely.

There are two sides that are awful. There aren't really only two sides, but the awful factions want to pretend that there are.
