I actually really ship them.

I was going to write pre-Earth (or whatever the call the time before they sent the 100 to Earth) smut fic of them, but then I realized it'd be incest AND underage and I wasn't sure how the fandom would react to that.

Mostly I think the implications of a sexual relationship them can be really interesting. They live in a society where no one has had a living sibling in two generations or so. The benefit of genetic diversity probably keeps the incest taboo alive somewhat, but since siblings aren't a thing, I wonder how the taboo might have changed. Plus, Bellamy and her mother were literally the only people Octavia knew until she was about 16. I can imagine the possibility of some sexual situations between her and Bellamy.

Actually there are quite a few fics on AO3 that have Bellamy/Octavia in them.

I haven't really read much for the fandom except Clarke/Bellamy, but I'll look into that!

That's the problem with a lot of these CW show fandoms - the fans are still pretty young and don't seem to have developed a sense of kink yet (and maybe they never will). In another CW fandom, I found myself toning down my fic to an R/M rating a lot because explicit kink never got hits or comments.

Young fans of things in general are super judgy about incest pairings. They will show up in your stuff to yell at you about how gross you are.

It's funny--I was just thinking how much better The 100 has done with sibling characters than Arrow did. (Ollie and Thea had serious chemistry in season 1.) But I can definitely understand shipping it. The actors are both ridiculously pretty, and Octavia and Bellamy have great interactions.

He had so much more chemistry with his sister than his actual love interests that it was borderline uncomfortable for me....and kind of hot
