AYRT

It took a while to get the cards cancelled, actually, although part of that was me being a little bit in denial and being absolutely certain that my wallet was going to turn up any minute now. (I still kind of am, and I am much more upset about the loss of the actual physical wallet than anything that was in it.) I have to throw a lot of praise at American Express, though, because my god the CSR could not have been more pleasant and sympathetic, and he was patient and helpful even after it took me a couple tries to find the information he needed to confirm my identity and cancel/reissue the card. He even gave me some information about a card that might give me a better cashback rate based on the way I spend without making it sound like a sales pitch. I made sure to mention him by name in the follow-up survey.
