Apparently the OP just wants their friends and acquaintances to stay and stagnate for their benefit. That's what it comes off as.

I don't know exactly what OP is referring to, but in their defense, I had a friend who would act like whatever her new fandom was was THE BEST fandom and refuse to talk about anything else. Except THE BEST fandom changed every three weeks. That got annoying.

I can see how that'd be annoying. But I also hate that some people want you to stay cause they want you to and never move to something new. That's just boring and not fun for anyone involved.

Why would people be "stagnating" if they liked one fandom? Like, say someone's super into Star Trek for 20 years and it's their main or only fandom. I don't see any problem with that.

That isn't what I meant. You have a friend who LOVES fandom A, but you have fallen out of love with it cause you found fandom B and want to delve in. But your friend wants you to stay in fandom A and not hop to B. YOU would be stagnating if you decided to adhere to your friend's wishes. Which would be shitty for all involved.

Maybe anon means 'constant' fandom hopping? (Like, idk, getting into something new every few months?) Though I don't see what the issue is, I'm probably one of those people anon would judge. (I have a lot of different interests.)

Aww, I'm glad to hear someone else adores Asahi! I'm a massive fan of the entire cast (including the main two), but I have a soft spot for Asahi too. He's adorable and sweet and deserves all the happiness!
