I need to shut my whore mouth and watch Lara Croft because that's as good as it gets amirite? And I ought to just be glad that movies and videogames feature female characters with anything other than tits and vags, because it's not like anything else actually sells the story.
I continue to be shocked at how much people who seem relatively intelligent and open minded can fail to grasp one really key concept about equality. People who haven't had equality can go years, decades, without any rights. If you sit there and accept things as they are as perfect, things don't get any better. It's only through bitching and whining that equality happens in the first place.
But hey, just because I think that fiction is a reflection of how society's views, and I am upset when fiction shows that society isn't as far along as it claims to be, that's a sure sign that all I care about is the fiction aspect.
