2: I actually love the series for all the wrong reasons. I don't participate in the fandom because I can't take it seriously and I figured that might not fly too well, but I do quite enjoy it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I now feel like less of a complete asshat.

Basically a few people recommended the series to me (Some seriously, some jokingly), I watched a few episodes of the dub and felt bad for not being able to take it seriously, then watched a subtitled version and still couldn't take it seriously. Then I read some of the manga and that was somehow even more hilarious.

Finally I decided to just consider it a comedy. There are just too many hilarious moments to play with. Especially with this guy.

Seriously?! Yes!!! The manga, man- who can take that sh!t seriously!? I mean, come on- they have little pictures of Mr. I AM VERY SERIOUS Haji eating raw sugarcane while playing the cello! Saya's boobs grow on a regular basis! THERE IS NOTHING ENTIRELY SRS BZNS IN THAT MANGA.
I've only read the first volume, tho. >__>;;; But even in that small portion, I agree- it's an utterly hilarious series. The anime kind of makes me go O__o?? because, uh... it takes itself SO seriously, even though... what? Opera? In Vietnam? Some kind of evil-undead-controlly-sound-thing is OPERA? The 'villans'... are all.... so laughable. In their own respects. ICON LOVE!
As for Haji and Saya.... comedy gold, right there. There's tons of potential for her to mess with his head. I mean.... just in terms of their relationship alone, let alone Japanese food!
