Last year I read through maybe 4 books and started a 5th. That's actually the most I've read since 2011. I hate myself for my reading habits going to shit. :(

I made a goal to try and read one book a week this year. I've pretty much been only reading fic for quite a while and I feel like I should get back into reading books again. Which means I'm probably replacing my aimless scrolling time with book reading time because I still plan to read a lot of fic, as usual. Since you've been reading on your smart phone you should try downloading ebooks. (I read on my iPad a lot.) I have a bunch of books I downloaded in my ibookshelf and I find I read more readily since I'm used to reading on my iPad now.

That's exactly what I've done, yeah, the smartphone/ebook thing. I'm reading through William Gibson's Virtual Light and enjoying it a lot more than I have in the past. Part of it is because Berry Rydell's segments are completely insane and I wish Gibson had written the entire book like that. It'd be like Snow Crash without 300 pages of pseudo-intellectual pomo bullshit.

I keep thinking I've read Snow Crash, but I actually read some weird book called The Snow Garden. Whoops.

That's probably a better book.
