Me, too... but I vastly prefer if you can get gay married and have families. I'm playing Fire Emblem Awakening now, and it really bothered me that you can't get gay married. Not that I'm surprised, it's Nintendo and a Japanese game, and maybe I'm being irrational, but it makes me sad that you can have so many happy hetero couples with children, but can't play it gay. :-/

I did spend a lot of time doting on my gay husband and adopted children in Skyrim though!

The rest of the FE series is actually really good about including same sex couples, actually. Awakening is an enormous step back in that department. No self inserts in the older games to the extent Robin is in Awakening, but plenty of endings for same sex couples.

cut one of those actuallys, I'm an idiot

Really? I can't quite remember. I played the two Game Boy ones and the Gamecube ones, but probably before I really cared about or noticed romance one way or the other. I do kind of remember that some same sex characters seemed to, err, care about each other quite a bit, and act a bit flirty. But I don't recall anything ever being canon.

I still love the series though. should probably go back and play those games! I just started Awakening last night though after a, what, ten year intermission from the Fire Emblem series. It is fun so far, but yeah, no gay relationships (so I hear anyway) makes me sad.

None in Awakening, yeah. There's a lot you can squint at, but they never get paired endings and can't reach the same level of support as the straight ships.
Now FE has never had gay marriage or anything, but the GBA games give Raven/Lucius, Florina/Lyn, and some in Sacred Stones that I can't remember special endings at A support. And Radiant Dawn has canon-lesbian Heather, and Ike has endings with only men that read pretty romantic for the series. It's honestly one of my favorite things about the games, sorry for babbling at you.
I'm not an expert on the non-translated games so can't say there.

Ahh now I'll definitely have to replay those! I do remember thinking that in the Gamecube one, the black mage dude struck me as possibly gay? I can't remember them clearly though. If only the Wii and Gamecube ones were available on PC, I don't have my consoles with me anymore!

Thanks for the info, though! :) I knew I liked the games. But still, bummer about Awakening. Oh well, I'm pretty good at squinting..

Yeah, Soren hits all the typical FE "love interest" boxes and can end up with Ike at the end. Ike/Soren is still probably the most popular ship in the fandom too.
Squinting can be awesome at times as well, though!
